Equipment

  • Juicer (or blender if you prefer)
  • Knife
  • Cutting board
  • Fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth (optional, for straining)
  • Measuring cup

Ingredients
  

  • 2 medium-sized beetroots peeled and chopped
  • 2 medium-sized carrots peeled and chopped
  • 1 apple optional, for sweetness, cored and chopped
  • 1 inch piece of fresh ginger optional, for a kick
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 cup of water adjust for desired consistency
  • Mint leaves for garnish, optional

Instructions
 

Prepare the Ingredients:

  • Wash and peel the beetroots. Also, wash and peel the carrots. Chop them up into smaller pieces to make them easier to juice.
  • If using, core and chop the apple, peel the ginger.

Juicing:

  • Place the beetroots, carrots, apple and ginger in a juicer.
  • Add the water and juice everything until smooth.

Strain (Optional):

  • Pass through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth to catch the pulp for a smoother juice.

Add Lemon Juice:

  • Add the lemon juice to improve taste and provide vitamin C.

Serve:

  • Serve the juice in glasses and garnish with mint leaves if you like. Enjoy right away, straight from the best before!
