Method
- Toast sesame seeds in a dry pan over medium heat until golden and fragrant, about 2–3 minutes.
- In a small saucepan, combine broth, soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, and sugar. Warm over low heat until just heated; don’t boil.
- Remove from heat. Add Dijon mustard and toasted sesame seeds.
- Blend until smooth using an immersion blender or standard blender.
- Let sauce cool for 10 minutes before serving. It thickens slightly as it rests.
- Serve with hibachi steak, grilled chicken, or veggies!
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week.
- For a vegan version, use agave syrup instead of honey and a vegan broth base.
- Want a kick? Add a dash of wasabi or hot mustard for extra heat.
