Method
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease an 8×8-inch baking dish.
- Spread the apple pie filling evenly across the bottom of the dish.
- Drizzle the caramel sauce evenly over the apples.
- Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly on top. Do not stir.
- Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the cake mix, covering as much surface as possible.
- Bake uncovered for 40-45 minutes, until the top is golden and the edges are bubbling.
- Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Do not mix the layers, dump cakes work best when layered.
- Serve warm for the best caramel texture.
- Delicious on its own or paired with vanilla ice cream.
- Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheat gently.
