  • 1/4 teaspoon salt or to taste

Method

  1. Add in the Butter —Melt unsalted butter on low heat in a small saucepan. Step 1 Don't burn the butter — keep it on low-medium heat.
  2. Step 2 (Mix Wet Ingredients): When butter is melted, take saucepan off of heat and whisk in Dijon mustard, lemon juice and Worcestershire.
  3. Step 3 — Add Herbs & Seasonings: Combine the melted butter mixture with minced garlic, fresh parsley chives, crushed red pepper flakes, smoked paprika cayenne pepper (if you like it spicy), black pepper and salt. Mix and combine all the flavours together.
  4. Step 4 Four Taste Test & Adjust — Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning as needed. Add more crushed red pepper flakes for additional heat or a little bit more lemon juice if you want it tangier.
  5. Step 5 (Serve or Store): Transfer the Cowboy Butter to a small bowl and refrigerate, covered, for up to one week. You can use it right away as a dipping sauce for steak, chicken, seafood or vegetables. Or refrigerate for future use.
  6. Step 6 (Reheat if Necessary): If the butter hardens in the fridge, only gently re-therm it either on a stovetop
