- 4 large apples Granny Smith or Honeycrisp, peeled, cored, and sliced
- 4 tbsp butter
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp cornstarch optional, for thickening
- 1/4 cup water adjust as needed
- Pinch of salt
Peel, core, and slice apples into 1/4-inch wedges.
In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add apples and sauté for 5 minutes.
Stir in brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and salt. Cook for another 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until apples are soft but not mushy.
If you prefer a thicker glaze, mix cornstarch with water and stir it in during the last 5 minutes of cooking.
Let rest for 5 minutes before serving warm.
