Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Mayonnaise Use regular or light mayo
  • 1/4 cup Ketchup
  • 1 tsp Vinegar for extra tang
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic powder Optional
  • 1/2 tsp Onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp Paprika
  • 1/4 tsp Salt Adjust to taste
  • 1/4 tsp Black pepper Adjust to taste

Equipment

  • Measuring spoons
  • Mixing bowl
  • Spoon or whisk for stirring
  • Airtight container for storage

Method

  1. Combine the Base Ingredients: In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine 1/2 cup of mayonnaise and 1/4 cup of ketchup. Stir the mixture until it is smooth and evenly blended.
  2. Add Seasonings: Add 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder, 1/4 teaspoon of paprika, 1/4 teaspoon of salt, and 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper to the bowl. Stir the sauce well to ensure the spices are fully incorporated.
  3. Add Vinegar (Optional): For an extra tangy kick, add 1 teaspoon of vinegar to the mix and stir. This step is optional but adds a little extra depth to the flavor.
  4. Taste and Adjust: Taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning to your preference. If you like it sweeter, you can add a small amount of sugar or more ketchup. For extra tanginess, add a bit more vinegar or pickle juice.
  5. Chill the Sauce: For the best flavor, let the fry sauce chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving. This allows the flavors to meld together and gives the sauce a thicker consistency.
  6. Serve and Enjoy: Serve Freddy's Fry Sauce alongside crispy fries, burgers, onion rings, or as a dipping sauce for chicken nuggets. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Storage: Store any leftover fry sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
  • Customizations: Feel free to experiment with adding hot sauce for a spicy kick or use a flavored mayonnaise to give the sauce a unique twist.
  • Vegan Option: For a vegan version, use vegan mayonnaise and ensure your ketchup is free from animal products.
