Ingredients
  

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon chili oil adjust to taste
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger grated
  • 2 green onions finely chopped (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds optional, for garnish

Method
 

  1. Step 1: Mix the Base : In a mixing bowl combine the soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil chili oil and sugar. Gently stir to dissolve sugar.
  2. Step 2: Add Aromatics : Combine the minced garlic and grated ginger. Stir well to combine.
  3. Step 3: Taste and Adjust : Season the sauce to taste, adding more seasoning as desired. Add more chili oil for heat, add sugar to make it sweeter or soy sauce if you like salt.
  4. Step 4: Serve : Strain the sauce into a serving bowl. Optional-When serving top with green onions and sesame seeds.
  5. Step 5: Enjoy : Enjoy your homemade gyoza by serving it with the dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Adjust the Spice Level: If you prefer a milder sauce, reduce the amount of chili oil. For extra heat, consider adding some red pepper flakes or sriracha.
  • Fresh Ingredients: Use fresh garlic and ginger for the best flavour. If you're short on time, you can use garlic powder and ground ginger, but fresh is always better!
