  • 1- inch piece Fresh ginger sliced
  • 1 Cinnamon stick or ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp Fresh lemon juice
  • 1 –2 Lemon slices
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper optional
  • 1 tsp Honey optional, or to taste

  • Strainer

Method
 

  1. Add water, sliced ginger, and cinnamon to a small pot and bring to a gentle boil.
  2. Reduce heat and simmer for 8 - 10 minutes to release the flavors.
  3. Remove from heat and strain into a mug.
  4. Stir in fresh lemon juice and add lemon slices.
  5. Add a pinch of cayenne for natural warmth if desired.
  6. Sweeten lightly with honey if preferred.
