Ingredients
  

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ¼ cups whole milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Cooking spray or butter for greasing

Instructions
 

Prepare the Batter:

  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
  • In another bowl, whisk the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  • Slowly pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined (do not overmix).

Preheat the Skillet:

  • Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Lightly grease with cooking spray or butter.

Cook the Hotcakes:

  • Pour about ¼ cup of batter onto the skillet for each hotcake.
  • Cook for 1-2 minutes until bubbles appear on the surface.
  • Flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
  • Repeat with the remaining batter.

Serve:

  • Stack the hotcakes and serve with butter and maple syrup, just like McDonald's!

Notes

For extra fluffiness, let the batter rest for 5 minutes before cooking.
Add a tablespoon of buttermilk for a richer taste.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat in the microwave or toaster.
