Ingredients
  

  • For the Brownie Base:
  • 1 cup 2 sticks unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • For the Topping:
  • 2 cups mini marshmallows
  • 1 cup chopped nuts walnuts or pecans
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Method
 

Prepare the Brownie Base:
  1. Grease the bottom of an 8-inch (20 c m) round cake pan with oil or butter. Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan and line with parchment paper.
  2. In a big bowl, combine melted butter, granulated sugar and brown sugar.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Add cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Using a spatula, fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until mixed.
Bake the Brownies:
  1. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  2. Bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center is clean.
Add the Topping:
  1. Take the brownies out of the oven and sprinkle marshmallows, chopped nuts, and chocolate chips evenly on top of the brownies while they are hot.
  2. Put the pan back into the oven for another 5-7 minutes until the marshmallows are puffy and brown.
Cool and Slice:
  1. Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before lifting them out using the parchment paper.
  2. Slice into squares or rectangles for serving.
