Ingredients
  

  • For the Chicken Patties:
  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp olive oil for cooking
  • For the Gravy:
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 onion finely chopped
  • 1 cup mushrooms sliced
  • 1 1/2 cups low-sodium beef broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water slurry
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Equipment

Method
 

Prepare the Chicken Patties:
  1. In a mixing bowl, mix together ground chicken, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder.
  2. Mix to combine and form into 4 oval patties.
Cook the Patties:
  1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Sear the patties until golden brown on each side, about 3-4 minutes. Remove and set aside.
Make the Gravy:
  1. Add butter to the same skillet and sauté onions and mushrooms for 3-4 minutes.
  2. Add beef broth, Worcestershire, and tomato paste; stir to combine.
  3. Combine cornstarch with water to create a slurry, then slowly whisk it into the gravy.
Simmer and Serve:
  1. Add the patties back to the skillet and let them simmer in the gravy for 10 minutes.
  2. Cover with a kitchen towel and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a dash of smoked paprika to the chicken mixture.
Swap beef broth with chicken broth for a lighter taste.
Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or roasted vegetables.
