Ingredients

  • 1 lb raw shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 6 cloves garlic thinly sliced
  • 1/3 cup olive oil extra virgin preferred
  • 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes adjust to taste
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika optional, for Spanish flavor
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt or to taste
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley chopped (optional garnish)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice fresh (optional but brightens the dish)
  • Crusty bread or zoodles for serving

Equipment

  • 1 large skillet (cast iron preferred)
  • Tongs
  • Wooden spoon

Method

  1. Warm the oil: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil and sliced garlic. Let it gently sizzle for 2–3 minutes until the garlic is fragrant and just golden (not brown).
  2. Add the spice: Stir in the crushed red pepper flakes and smoked paprika, letting them infuse the oil for 30 seconds.
  3. Cook the shrimp: Add the shrimp in a single layer. Season with sea salt. Cook for about 1–2 minutes per side, just until they turn pink and opaque.
  4. Finish it off: Optional add a splash of lemon juice and sprinkle with fresh parsley.
  5. Serve sizzling: Bring the skillet straight to the table and serve hot with bread or low-carb veggie sides!
