- 2 lbs chicken cut into serving pieces
- 2 tbsp cooking oil
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 1 medium onion chopped
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 2 tbsp liver spread or pâté
- 1 ½ cups chicken broth or water
- 1 medium carrot sliced
- 2 medium potatoes cubed
- 1 small red bell pepper sliced
- 1 small green bell pepper sliced
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp sugar optional
- 1 tsp chili flakes optional, for spice
- ½ cup grated cheese optional, for creaminess
- Salt and pepper to taste
Prepare the Ingredients: Wash and cut the chicken into serving pieces. Slice the vegetables and set aside.
Sauté Aromatics: Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Sauté garlic and onions until fragrant.
Brown the Chicken: Add chicken pieces and cook until lightly browned on all sides.
Simmer the Stew: Pour in tomato sauce, chicken broth, and liver spread. Stir well, cover, and let simmer for about 20 minutes.
Add Vegetables: Add carrots, potatoes, and bell peppers. Stir and continue cooking until vegetables are tender.
Season: Add soy sauce, sugar (if using), chili flakes, and season with salt and pepper. Let simmer for another 10 minutes.
Final Touch: Add grated cheese for a richer, creamier sauce (optional). Stir until melted.
Serve & Enjoy: Turn off the heat and serve hot with steamed rice.
For a spicier version, add more chili flakes or fresh chili peppers.
You can substitute liver spread with peanut butter for a different flavor twist.
