1 Mixing Bowl (for combining ingredients)
1 Skillet - preferably cast iron or non-stick
1 Spatula - for flipping patties
1 Plate lined with paper towels - for draining excess oil
1 can 14.75 oz pink salmon, drained 1 large egg 1/4 cup breadcrumbs or crushed saltines 1/4 cup finely chopped onion 1 tbsp mayonnaise 1/2 tsp garlic powder Salt and pepper to taste 2 tbsp vegetable oil for frying
In a large mixing bowl, combine the drained salmon (remove bones if desired), egg, breadcrumbs, onion, mayonnaise, and seasonings.
Mix until well combined and shape into small patties (about 6–8 depending on size).
Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.
Fry the patties 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown and crisp.
Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce or a side salad.
You can substitute breadcrumbs with crushed saltines or panko for extra crunch. These salmon patties also taste great cold the next day in a sandwich!
