  • 1 Skillet - preferably cast iron or non-stick
  • 1 Spatula - for flipping patties
  • 1 Plate lined with paper towels - for draining excess oil

Ingredients

  • 1 can 14.75 oz pink salmon, drained
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs or crushed saltines
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the drained salmon (remove bones if desired), egg, breadcrumbs, onion, mayonnaise, and seasonings.
  • Mix until well combined and shape into small patties (about 6–8 depending on size).
  • Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Fry the patties 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown and crisp.
  • Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce or a side salad.

Notes

You can substitute breadcrumbs with crushed saltines or panko for extra crunch. These salmon patties also taste great cold the next day in a sandwich!
