Ingredients
  

  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce optional for extra umami
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 cups shredded green cabbage
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 1/4 cup sliced green onions
  • 1 lb yakisoba noodles or ramen, udon, or linguine as substitute
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes optional for heat
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Equipment

  • Large skillet or wok
  • Tongs or spatula
  • Saucepan (for boiling noodles if using dry)

Method
 

  1. Prep the Sauce: In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, oyster sauce (if using), and sesame oil. Set aside.
  2. Cook the Veggies: Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium heat. Add garlic, sauté until fragrant. Toss in cabbage and carrots. Cook for 3–4 minutes until softened.
  3. Add Noodles: Add pre-cooked or boiled noodles to the skillet. Use tongs to mix everything.
  4. Add Sauce & Toss: Pour in the sauce mixture. Stir and toss well until noodles are coated evenly.
  5. Garnish & Serve: Top with green onions, sesame seeds, and red pepper flakes. Serve warm with grilled meats or tofu.

Notes

You can use yakisoba noodle packs (found in Asian stores) or substitute with linguine or spaghetti for a pantry-friendly version. Add grilled shrimp, chicken, or tofu for a protein boost.
