- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Add rhubarb and sugar. Spread the chopped rhubarb evenly on the bottom of the dish and sprinkle sugar on top.
- Add cake mix. Pour the dry cake mix evenly over the rhubarb and sugar layer — do not stir.
- Add liquid and butter. Pour the water (evenly distributed) over the top, then drizzle the melted butter across the entire surface.
- Bake for 45 to 50 minutes. The top should be golden brown and crispy around the edges.
- Cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm or chilled either way, it melts in your mouth.
