  • 1 lb 450g edamame in pods (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or sesame oil

  • 1 tsp chili flakes optional, for extra spice
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

  • 1 green onion chopped (for garnish, optional)

Instructions
 

  • Cook the edamame: Meanwhile, in a large pot of boiling water appropriate for pasta. Boil the edamame with a bit of salt. Boil or steam for about 5 minutes, then drain and put them aside.
  • Prepare the spicy sauce: Heat olive oil in large skillet over medium heat. Throw in some fresh (or frozen) green beans and a generous tablespoon of minced garlic until browned.
  • Combine edamame and sauce: Add the shelled edamame to skillet, then soy sauce and sriracha or chili flakes (if using) followed by salt and black pepper. Season the edamame with sauce and toss better each. Cook for 1-2 minutes, or until warm throughout.
