The Red Velvet Oreo Cake Roll Explosion – it looks amazing and tastes even better! Imagine a red velvet cake with a smooth Oreo cream inside, all covered in lovely chocolate ganache.
It’s the sweet spot between tangy cream cheese and the slight crunch of Oreo bits making it just right for parties and special events.
They say red velvet cake was first made in the USA, and became a favourite down south. The bright red? Originally, it’s from mixing buttermilk and cocoa powder, but today, people often use food colouring. And the Oreo? Nabisco’s iconic American treat matches the indulgent taste of this cake roll. So, here’s a blast of two American treasures in one sweet treat!
What is a Red Velvet Oreo Cake Roll?
This Red Velvet Oreo Cake Roll is one amazing treat! This recipe takes all that is great in red velvet cake and combined it with the amazing-ness of Oreo.
This cake is so soft and moist, it looks amazing. And then the contrast of that vibrant red shell against a creamy white filling. The rolled layout also makes it a great way to serve. This dessert is ideal for the occasions or any kind of holiday celebration.
It wows guests with its delectable taste and beautiful presentation. With a spin, it is a fresh new take on an old favourite.
Essential Ingredients for the Cake Roll
Several basic ingredients are needed to make a Red Velvet Oreo Cake Roll. All-purpose flour (for the cake base) To keep the flavour nice and deep, throw some cocoa powder into your mix as well.
The addition of the baking powder and soda helps lift this cake to it´s full potential. Then you will require granulated sugar for the sweet and eggs to bind it. The buttermilk provides the cake with moisture and helps to make this a very tender crumb.
The food colouring is what gives the cake its red velvet. Inside, fill with cream cheese after mixing powdered sugar and crushed Oreos as a tasty contrast to my previous experiment.
Why Making a Oreo Cake Roll at Home is a Great Idea
Having the option of making a Red Velvet Oreo Cake Roll at home sound pretty good to me. If you want to sweeten (or even substitute a gluten-free flour) go ahead.
Home-made dessert is also bound to taste better than store-bought alternatives. Not to mention, it feels good making a beautiful looking dessert.
So obviously the hand that rolls it up with all of its yummy flavours is going to add a lot more flavour for who gets this masterpiece shared. This is a great showstopper for any party or gathering.
Is Oreo Healthy for Everyday Consumption?
Oreos are a tasty snack, but can you eat them everyday? Sugar, refined flour and unhealthy fats make these cookies high in calories. Having Oreos once in a while also helps to round out your diet more healthily if you eat them every single day, and it contains quite a bit of sugar too.
Before you take my head off, Oreos provide very little nutritional value in terms of vitamins or minerals. Oreos should not be consumed in excess — just kept as a delicious treat every now and again.
If you consume my favourite snack your blood sugar level will spike, but pairing the puffed wheat/cheese twists with a fruit or some nuts can result in a decent overall balance. But in the end, it is important to treat them as an indulgence and not a regularity opinion on oat.

Tips for Better Red Velvet Oreo Cake Roll Explosion Recipe
- Use Fresh Ingredients: Make sure your Oreo Cake Roll has always been prepared with fresh items. But eggs help + cream cheese, and a little cocoa powder will do wonders for how your cake tastes.
- Sift Your Dry Ingredients: To prevent separation it is beneficial to sift flour, cocoa powder and powdered sugar when composing the batter for your Oreo Cake Roll.
- Don’t Over-mix: Combine the two until just moist; do not over-mix. By over mixing, you ruin the texture of your cake which will be very dense and we do not want that.
- Use the Right Pan: Bake the cake on a parchment-lined jelly roll pan. And it will make the roll easy to form for your piece of Oreo Cake Roll.
- Allow Cooling Before Filling: Make sure your cake is room temperature before you fill it. This way, the filling will not leak out and it holds up your cake roll.
